Michèle Saint-Michel

Experiential Designer • Curator • Producer
Based in Brooklyn, NY

I design and produce immersive experiences at the intersection of embodiment, ecology, and experimental media. My practice spans exhibition curation, multi-sensory installations, live events, poetic publishing, and time-based works that foreground the body as a site of perception, memory, and relation.

About Michèle Saint-Michel

Michèle Saint-Michel is an experiential producer and curator with a track record of managing large-scale, cross-platform creative projects. She specializes in multi-format productions that blend film, performance, installation, and publishing. Her practice is rooted in strategic execution, creative clarity, and emotional attunement.

Saint-Michel has produced hybrid exhibitions such as Between a Frame and a Soft Place (Millennium Film Workshop, NYC), coordinating 65+ artists across live performance, multi-day screenings, and gallery install. For Quantum Intimacies, she managed spatial design, production timelines, permitting, and live programming across a multi-sensory event series. Through her imprint Bad Saturn Media, she leads publication design and cross-platform storytelling for experimental books, zines, and event collateral.

With a background in editorial strategy, communications, and interdisciplinary media, Saint-Michel bridges concept and logistics seamlessly. She has worked with institutions, artist-led platforms, and startups on event design, team management, and audience experience. She thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments where creativity and clarity are both mission-critical.

Saint-Michel holds an MA with Distinction in Artists’ Film & Moving Image from Goldsmiths, University of London. Her technical fluency spans Google Suite, Asana, Excel, Notion, Adobe, and digital-first publishing tools. She is based in New York with flexible availability for travel and onsite production.

Statement

Experiential design is not just what people see—it’s what they sense in their bones, their breath, their silence. My work emerges from the belief that environments can be tender technologies: capable of disarming the nervous system, re-patterning perception, and cultivating new relational ethics.

Beginning with poetic fragments or gestures, I construct intermedia landscapes—across space, time, and form. These include: curated film programs, ephemeral installations, sound-led rituals, zines-as-portals, and hybrid events where the audience becomes a participant.

I ask: What are the conditions for attention, attunement, and resonance? And how can curatorial acts make space for emergence, not just spectacle?

My works operate like choreographies of presence—inviting pause, permeability, and multiplicity. Whether designing a gallery show or leading a site-based experience, I hold with equal weight the conceptual, the structural, and the sensory.

Curating & Programming in New York

As a film curator based in New York, I program hybrid exhibitions at Millennium Film Workshop, spotlighting underrepresented voices in experimental and poetry-based cinema. Recent curatorial projects include Quantum Intimacies and Between a Frame and a Soft Place—multi-day programs that integrated screenings, live performance, and immersive installation into cohesive, sensory-forward experiences.

From initial concept to post-event reconciliation, I produce complex activations that span hybrid screenings, gallery installations, print publishing, and performance. My install work often incorporates preserved organic material, choreographic logic, poetic structures, and sound design—constructing layered atmospheres that activate perception and memory.

  • Publication strategist and editor for artbooks and zines
As Managing Editor of Bad Saturn Media, I lead collaborative editorial and production pipelines. My books and zines often accompany exhibitions, building extended narrative space across media.

  • Systems-thinker committed to care-centered cultural production
