FADMagazine, London, UK

In danger, the sea-cucumber divides itself in two (2023). 9 min. Color, Silent. Installation view, Hypha Studios, 2023

A captivating mixed media exhibition recently took place, showcasing a diverse range of art forms. Hosted at the Stratford venue in London, this exhibit allowed visitors to discover a subterranean world of unique sculptures that took inspiration from the underground pipelines in site-specific contexts.

Along with the striking sculptures, interactive installations were available, enabling visitors to indulge in sensory awakenings that played on emotional memory. The exhibition offered screenings of sound and film works that investigated human relationships to the natural world.

An exceptional piece within the exhibit was Michèle Saint-Michel's moving image work, 'In danger, the sea-cucumber divides itself in two' (2023). This 9-minute film played on a large Panasonic monitor in vivid color, capturing the attention of visitors and immersing them in the artist's unique vision on the sea floor.

The exhibition was made possible by Hypha Studios, with support from Get Living, East Village London, and Goldsmiths Exhibition Hub.
