In June 2026, multidisciplinary artist Michèle Saint-Michel presented Will to Power, a sculptural installation, as part of the inaugural exhibition at Hypha Gallery South Bank in London. Will to Power is a sculptural poem that transforms language into a navigable structure. A text by poet Kenneth Rexroth is distributed across translucent planes, causing words and phrases to overlap, disappear, and reassemble as viewers move around the sculpture. No single viewpoint offers complete access to the work. Instead, meaning emerges through movement, perception, and the viewer's embodied experience.

Drawing on philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche's concept of the will to power as a continual process of becoming, the sculpture explores how language, identity, and knowledge are constructed through relation rather than certainty. Part sculpture, part poem, and part perceptual score, Will to Power invites viewers to participate in the work through changing perspectives and sustained attention.

The exhibition at Hypha Gallery South Bank marks an important presentation within Saint-Michel's broader contemporary art practice, which spans sculpture, installation, experimental film, poetry, and curatorial practice. Working between New York City and London, her work investigates perception, embodiment, and the structures through which we make meaning, often combining text, moving image, architecture, and performance into immersive installations.
