Creative Director, Experiential Producer, and Cultural Programmer in Brooklyn, NY
I design and produce work at the intersection of film, exhibition, and publishing. I’m based in Brooklyn and I collaborate with brands, agencies, museums, and independent studios that want projects with real emotional charge, not just assets to post.
My background is in experimental film and cultural programming, so I think like an artist and deliver like a producer. That means I can sit in the strategy room, on set, or in the gallery and keep the through-line intact from idea to audience.
Michèle Saint-Michel is a Brooklyn-based creative director, experiential producer, and cultural programmer working across film, exhibition-making, and editorial projects in New York, London, and international contexts.
She leads projects end to end, from the first conversation to the final delivery. Her experience spans:
moving-image campaigns and short-form video
live and hybrid events
exhibitions and installations
artist books, zines, and multi-author publications
Her programming work at Millennium Film Workshop in Brooklyn includes multi-artist exhibitions and film programs that combine performance, installation, and expanded cinema. This curatorial practice directly informs how she approaches commercial and institutional work, bringing a sense of narrative, rhythm, and atmosphere into brand and audience experiences.
As founder of Bad Saturn, an independent press and media studio, she has produced art books, time-based media projects, and collaborative editions. This has sharpened her capacity for creative strategy, content development, and building systems that scale beyond a single campaign.
Across everything, she focuses on how stories move through space, time, and people. She treats each project as both an artwork and a system: something that has to land emotionally and also function operationally.
She is available for creative direction, experiential production, and integrated campaign consulting in New York, Los Angeles, and London, and she often works remotely with international teams.

I produce exhibitions, screenings, and live programs that feel intentional from the invite to the exit.
Support can include:
concept development and creative framing
venue collaboration and technical planning
production management and showcalling
artist and talent coordination
documentation strategies for press and social
I work with brands, agencies, and institutions on moving-image projects that sit between art and communication.
This can look like:
directing or co-directing short films and campaign pieces
creative direction for fashion, editorial, and cultural content
assembling and leading production teams
guiding post-production, sound, and delivery for multi-platform use
Through Bad Saturn and in partnership with other publishers, I develop and produce books and editorial projects that extend the life of exhibitions and films.
This includes:
artist books and exhibition publications
essays, interviews, and commissioned writing
editorial direction and copy shaping
production management for print and digital editions
I help institutions and studios shape programs that feel coherent and alive.
This may involve:
program design for festivals, retrospectives, and series
building thematic frameworks and curatorial arcs
aligning programming with institutional values and audience goals
consulting on how film, performance, and publishing can work together

I design experiences that linger in the body. I often start with small things: an image, a sentence, a fragment of sound. From there I build worlds across film, performance, installation, and print.
Production, for me, is not separate from the art. It is the choreography that lets the work arrive in the right way. Budgets, timelines, and teams are not just constraints, they are materials. I pay close attention to how people will enter a space, how they will move through it, what stays with them afterward.
Whether I am:
producing a multi-market campaign,
building a screening and performance program, or
carrying a book from idea to object,
I hold the creative thread through complexity. The goal is to protect the integrity of the work while making sure it actually gets made, on time, in reality.
