Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art (AKMA) in St. Joseph, Missouri, has announced the expansion of its Museum Store just in time for holiday shopping. The store has been enlarged to include all titles from Michèle Saint-Michel, a local poet and artist.
Visitors and members of the museum will now have an even better shopping experience, with a new layout that allows the store to showcase more work by local and international artists. Alex Asher, Director of Education and Manager of the AKMA Museum Shop, expressed his excitement at the expanded shopping experience, saying, "With this new layout, we are able to showcase even more incredible work by local and international artists."
The AKMA Museum Store carries a range of art pieces, including handmade ornaments, carvings, and pottery, as well as framed artists' prints and photographs. In addition, shoppers can now find books from local artists and writers, including the works of Michèle Saint-Michel. The store now offers Grief Is an Origami Swan: An Art Book About Grief, Saint Agatha Mother Redeemer book and coloring book, and all three journals by the local author.
"I couldn't be happier for my books to finally have a home in St. Joseph. It makes sense for books that are artful and poetic to be found right here at the AKMA," said Saint-Michel. "Albrecht-Kemper is continually evolving to provide the area with exciting artistic works and I'm proud to be a part of that."
The AKMA Museum Store is open during museum hours for holiday gift-giving. Visitors can shop from Tuesday to Friday, 10 am to 4 pm, and on weekends from 1 pm to 4 pm. This expansion of the Museum Store will undoubtedly attract more visitors and offer them a wider range of artistic and literary works to choose from.
